Ch. 15 - Retailing " Trip to Vera Wang."



My trip to the one of a kind "Vera Wang," can be sum up in one word Amazing!!!! 
Not only did i live my life long dream of being a bride, but i also was able to choose from thousands of wedding dresses.


This was a great opportunity to look at the brand from a marketing standpoint.  
My best friend accompanied me to the boutique.  
It was a beautiful tuesday morning.  I had my ring and my smile ready to make a grand entrance.  It was extremely difficult trying to arrange an appointment, however the staff was very helpful and loving.  When we first entered the doors of the boutique you can feel a sense of "Elegance."   We were catered to our every need and want.  The brand had some of the top of the line dresses on a waiting list.  


I felt just like a celebrity, without the bank account.  


The wonderful thing of it all, was the amount of respect and care given to each costumer.  
I felt like a princess in paradise.

I've notice throughout my search the way Instyle magazine keeps their "name"  by seeking consumers today through the the form of the internet.  Facebook & Twitter has become the new trend to seek their audience on a faster, and much larger database

InStyle can also be founded mention in television shows such as, Fashion Police or Access Hollywood.

Not only is this magazine a fun read, but also informative. It gives great ideas on what to wear, what make-up or skin products are the best, the latest hot spots and fun places to go, and great ideas for gifts and parties. The interviews and articles are informative and fun, but my favorite section is when they let you in on a celebrity/prominent person's party or get together. They give you all the details as well as some recipes of items they serve so you could recreate it if you wanted to. I like it so much I actually bought the InStyle Party book! This is a great magazine!

Though not particularly interested in all the celebs that appear in In Style, I enjoy this magazine because it covers the fashion world pretty completely in every issue. It's a good resource for keeping up to date about such products as hair styling aids, shoes, perfume, makeup, etc. As in most fashion mags, some of the clothing featured is unwearable for ordinary women, but a good deal of what they show is stylish and practical. It also does a good job illustrating faux pas. I look forward to leafing through each new issue.

Hello, first off, I'm a dad and I got this magazine to add to other subscriptions for my daughter as she went from the tweens to the teens to help introduce her to styles and products in the marketplace.


Oddly enough, I have benefited a lot being able to recommend many of the products advertised therein to her (we used a Neutrogena face wash this week that actually worked!) and to have some idea what to purchase as gifts for other family members, etcetera.


As clothes and cosmetics become more and more expensive it helps to be able to make an informed decision the first time you buy and I enjoy giving many of the products as gifts for birthdays, Christmas, and surprises.


The magazine portrays some glitz but really appears to be excellent in its articles, advice, and the products it advertises (editor: cigarette ads are the exception).


Having run the gauntlet of women's and girls magazines and read all of them that my daughter subscribed to growing up for content and to discuss ideas with her, I recommend this for women and teens.

Ch. 6 - Consumer Decision Making

Why would anyone want to buy a magazine today, when most of our information received comes from the wonderful world of web?


"VALUE"
The most important factor within whatever decision making. A lasting brand most convince and persuade a consumer to believe that by buying this product would either benefit or contribute to their lifestyle. The need to want this magazine in your hand. The need to pay $4 as a non-subscriber.

What's great about publication is their ability to entertain. Consumers are drawn not to price, but how different is the material and context proposed.

Instyle has developed different branches in which users can intake more information for the cost.
Example: Website/Mini magazine (Comes inside the monthly issue)/Twitter/ Facebook.

Wow. I took a whole trip around the world, and it didn't cost me much.
